Dear future Love.
I’m trying to be a better person so that when our time finally comes, I’ll be worthy of the love we’ll share. And I realize that, if you’re anything like me, you’ll have your issues stemming from those who’ve hurt you in the past. But I want to help you get better, not add on to your problems, so that even if we aren’t meant to be forever (though I really hope we are), it won’t end badly. You’ll be able to look back on our time with a smile and go on to find your forever (but again, I really hope we’re each others’ forever).
I promise to be faithful and truthful to you, as I know how much actions of the opposite hurt people. And I hope you can be patient with me because my baggage isn’t always the easiest. But I think if we work together, we can lighten the load for both of us.
Now that the serious stuff is out of the way, I look forward to the days where we just get to be together. The sunny spring days that we’ll run around, go on bike rides, long walks… the rainy summer days where we’ll stay inside and build a fort out of all the blankets… the fall days where I’ll give you my jacket and in return you’ll hold onto me and we’ll keep ourselves warm… the snowy winter days where we’ll have snowball fights, build snowmen and make snow angels until it’s time to go inside for hot cocoa. I hope you’re as excited about these days as I am.
